Facile and Voices Perth Initiative Offer Four-Part Workshop Series on Relationships

The Voices Perth initiative and Facile Futures are excited to offer a new series of free webinars for youth ages 14 to 17. These presentations will focus on the topic of relationships, and will be led by Facile Futures Facilitator and Elevatus Certified Sexuality Educator and Trainer, Jodi McLean. Each presentation in the four-part series will focus on a different topic within relationships, including friendships, dating, consent and boundaries, and personal safety. Each of these webinars will feature a 30-minute presentation, followed by a live Q&A.

Participants are welcome to pick and choose the sessions that most interest them, or register for the whole series using the link below. But, spots in each session are limited, so be sure to register to secure your spot!

This workshop series is designed to help youth find, build and grow healthy relationships with their peers and others. The presentations are designed as introductions to key topics around forming healthy relationships, and include content and curriculum designed and accredited by Elevatus — lead trainers in sexuality and development.

These workshops have been designed with all youth in mind, so the content and presentation is appropriate and accessible to youth of all abilities, including youth with a developmental or intellectual disability.

To participate in this workshop series, each participant will need their own device (laptop, tablet or desktop computer) and the ability to use a camera and microphone with/on this device. If you would like to participate but do not have access to these devices, please email us so we can help arrange access to a device for you!

Workshop 1: Wait…How Do You Actually Make Friends?

April 28, 2026 from 6:30-7:30 pm

“Wait…How Do You Actually Make Friends?” is a fun, honest workshop for teens who want real connections, but aren’t sure where to start. Through relatable examples, interactive activities, and zero cringe, participants will learn how to start conversations, read social cues, and build friendships that actually last. It’s all about gaining confidence, being yourself, and realizing you’re not the only one figuring this out.

 

Workshop 2: So, You Like Them… Now What?

May 5, 2026 from 6:30-7:30 pm

“So, You Like Them… Now What?” is a real-talk workshop for teens navigating crushes, mixed signals, and the anxiety of making a move. Through relatable scenarios and interactive discussion, participants will learn how to express interest, handle rejection, and build healthy, respectful relationships. It’s all about confidence, communication, and figuring out what you actually want — not just what you think you’re supposed to do.

 

Workshop 3: No Pressure: Understanding Consent & Boundaries In Relationships

May 12, 2026 from 6:30-7:30 pm

“No Pressure: Understanding Consent & Boundaries in Relationships” is a supportive, judgment-free workshop that helps teens understand what healthy respect and communication really look like. Through real-life scenarios and open conversation, participants will learn how to set boundaries, recognize others’ limits, and navigate consent with clarity and confidence. It’s about building relationships where everyone feels safe, heard, and genuinely respected.

 

Workshop 4: Keeping Safety In Mind: Playing It Safe While Making New Connections

May 19 from 6:30-7:30 pm

“Keeping Safety in Mind: Playing It Safe While Making New Connections” is a practical workshop that helps teens navigate new friendships — especially online — with confidence and awareness. Participants will learn how to spot red flags, protect their privacy, and handle interactions with strangers safely, both online and in person. It’s about making connections while staying smart, aware, and in control.
