At Facile Futures, we believe that the best source of information for caregivers and parents is other families and caregivers. That is why we are committed to creating opportunities for caregivers of all ages to come together, encourage one another, and share pivotal information through our family engagement initiatives.
We do this through our partnership with the Perth County Family Network, which is a family-led network in Perth County. The Network holds space for families to socialize and take part in events where good information is shared and strong planning strategies are encouraged. Family Facilitation
More
Through our relationships with individual families, we have worked to build a foundation of trust with caregivers and support them in their role as supportive decision-makers. We do this by helping to facilitate conversations between caregivers and loved ones with a disability about their wishes.
Your facilitator can also work with you to complete planning and administrative tasks, think about the long-term needs your loved one may have, and support your advocacy efforts. Your facilitator will be like a personal assistant and coach all in one!
These Planning and Facilitation services are a Passport Eligible Expense (up to $2,500 per year).
If you’re interested in receiving the support of a facilitator, or would like to learn more about our fee-for-service, please email us at info@facilefutures.ca
Facilitation of Family Networks
More
Families meet with each other in many different ways. Sometimes a handful of families is brought together by a shared purpose or common diagnosis. Others come together because they have common planning goals (e.g. housing), or because their loved ones are of a similar age. Regardless of what brings you together, your family network may benefit from the guidance and support of a facilitator.
We also host Safe and Secure book clubs for parents and families.

Family-Based Research
More
We want to ensure that the people we serve receive the best care possible. We also want to be able to effectively bring the voices of the people we serve to the community conversations and collaborations we take part in so that we can encourage and support innovative solutions.
To do this, the Facile Futures team works hard to engage with individuals with a disability, and their caregivers, to learn about their experiences. As a community organization, we are constantly evaluating the work we do, and that includes designing feedback loops into out work.
This work is always ongoing.
We are always eager to hear from people with lived experience. If you’re a family member who would like to share your voice or volunteer with Facile, please contact Facile Futures’ Executive Director, Emily Branje, at emily@facilefutures.ca
