Huron-Perth Employment Network Offers Free Exploring Employment Workshop

October is disability employment month. In collaboration with the Huron-Perth Employment Network, Facile is offering a free Exploring Employment workshop for parents, caregivers and families who have a loved one with a disability on October 21, 2026.

This event is designed for families of all ages, and is an opportunity for family members to learn how to support and prepare their loved one for employment.

Ingrid Muschta, from the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN), will be joining us in person to share experiences from both her personal and professional life. As a professional and a mother, she’ll share thoughts on ways families can take steps early to prepare their loved one to start thinking about employment. She’ll also provide families with a view of the employment landscape and what is happening in Ontario to support more inclusive opportunities in the workplace.

Caregivers and family members who attend will have the chance to:

  • Learn about what they can do to support their loved one’s goals
  • Learn how to prepare and plan ahead for employment
  • Learn about how Facile and its partners can support their family’s goals

The Exploring Employment workshop will take place on October 21, at 6:00 PM, at Zehrs Stratford’s Community Room (upstairs at 865 Ontario St., Stratford).

She has a vision for her son to grow up in a society where people with disabilities will participate in formal higher education; that they will be engaged in equal and meaningful employment; they will access and contribute to the decision-making processes that directly impact their lives; and they will be recognized as vibrant contributors to their communities.
