Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network Advisory Committee Seeking Input from Local Employers

STRATFORD, Ont. — The Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network Advisory Committee has launched an online survey to gather input and insights from local employers in Huron and Perth Counties. The goal of this survey is to help inform strategies designed to support increased youth employment and inclusive hiring practices.

The Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network Advisory Committee was formed in early 2025, with a goal of supporting youth of all abilities to effectively enter the world of work and build sustainable careers within the communities where they live. Together, the committee is working to build a Youth Employment Network in Huron-Perth.

This Youth Employment Network will be made up of local employers who embrace and celebrate the contributions of youth in the workforce. Network members will be committed to offering young people of all abilities opportunities to grow their employability and pursue their passions through careers in Huron and Perth Counties.

These ongoing efforts have been made possible by the generous support received from the Libro Credit Union’s Annual Grants Program (2024).

The committee’s new online survey is targeted toward employers located in Huron and Perth Counties who are willing to offer employment, pre-employment opportunities (volunteer and CO-OP placements), and/or mentorship to youth of all abilities. Through the survey, the committee aims to learn what resources would allow employers such as small businesses, municipalities and nonprofits to confidently hire youth with and without a disability. The findings of this survey will be used to inform the advisory committee’s efforts going forward.

Employers who complete the survey will automatically be entered for a chance to win a free advertising opportunity for their business. All who complete the survey will also receive access to a complimentary employer toolkit, courtesy of the Ontario Disability Employment Network.

The Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network Employer Survey is now live and will be active until end of day on December 12, 2025. Those interested in participating can access the survey here: https://forms.gle/PWdhMYNQ6SynY6yD8
